How to Log in to Canvas
Additional Resources for Single Sign-On
If you don't see your course on the Canvas Dashboard, click "Courses" on the left Global Navigation Bar, then select "All Courses." Click on the Star icon to the left of the course you want to appear on the Canvas Dashboard. The red star will add course as "Favorite."
Who do I contact if I cannot see my course on Canvas?

Verify that you are registered for the course and have paid for it on Self-Service.

If you can't access your course before the first day of class: Online courses are made available on the first day of class. While some instructors may provide access prior to the first day, it is at their discretion. Check Canvas on the first day of class to see if your course has been made available.

If you can't access your course after the first day of class: Verify that you are registered for the course in Self-Service, and that you have not been dropped. If you are registered, please contact the Distance Education Office by filling out the Support Request Form.

If you recently registered for the course in Self-Service, it may take up to 6 hours after the registration was finalized for the course to appear on Canvas. If it has been more than 8 hours since the registration was completely processed, contact the Distance Education Office by filling out the Support Request Form. Be sure to include your Full Name, Course Name, Section Number, Student ID, and the Issue(s) to help ensure that we can respond to your request in a timely fashion.

What do I do if I can't log in Canvas?

To log in Canvas, you will need your school-issued email address (jd12345@student.sac.edu, jd12345@student.sccollege.edu) and the password that is associated with your school account. (It's the same password you log into Canvas with). Note: If you attended Santiago Canyon College prior to SAC, you would have to use SCC email login. If you need to locate your student email, please log in to your Self-Service User Profile page to retrieve your student email.

Students can obtain the Canvas Hotline number by clicking on the Help icon in Canvas
Canvas Support is available 24/7 for SAC Students using the toll-free Canvas Support phone number. Canvas' expert representatives are able to access and troubleshoot all SAC courses, and answer any questions on how to use Canvas, including how to access and complete content. Students should always call the Canvas Support hotline first for any assistance, questions, or problems with a Canvas course. The Canvas Support number is free to students and support is available 24/7.

Canvas Student Video Guide
The Canvas Student Video Guide provides video instructions on many of the most used Canvas features. The Canvas Student Guides can also be accessed directly from Canvas by clicking the "Help" link on the Global Navigation Menu on the left side, then selecting "Search the Canvas Guides" from the menu.
Canvas is designed for maximum compatibility with minimal requirements. However, there are a few minimum technical requirements. For more information, visit What are the basic computer specifications for Canvas?
For optimal functionality, SAC recommends using only Firefox or Chrome as the browser for Canvas. IE and Edge DO NOT work consistently with all Canvas features and functions.
