Important Guidelines

Our Role

  • We supplement classroom learning and help develop skills
  • We do NOT write assignments, predict grades, replace class attendance, or provide missed class notes

Tutoring Options

  1. In-person – Work directly with tutors or ask quick questions
  2. Group Workshops – Check Canvas for schedules (in-person or virtual)
  3. Virtual Tutoring – Access via Canvas Dashboard > Online Tutoring > Virtual Front Desk

Session Details

  • Writing tutoring: Up to 30 minutes (may extend if no one is waiting); limit 2 DOTAs per session
  • Other tutoring: 45 minutes; one appointment per subject per week (call for same-day cancellations)

What to Bring

  • Assignment instructions, rubrics, and guidelines
  • Any work completed so far
  • Relevant course materials

Learning Center Etiquette

  • Work quietly and use headphones
  • Silence devices; take calls outside
  • No guests (friends, children, relatives)

Registration & Cost

  • Free for SAC and SCE students
  • Must register for the Learning Center LRN section each semester (two-step process on our website)
  • Visit confirmation certificates available upon request via email
