Guardian Scholars Program Eligibility

To join the Guardian Scholars Program at Santa Ana College, students may qualify in one of two ways:

  1. Guardian Scholars (GSP) - Students must meet all of the following:
  • Be a current or former foster youth
  • Be 35 years old or younger (at the start of the first academic year)
  • Be enrolled in at least 6 units
  • Have been in foster care for at least one day (at any age)
  • Provide a Ward of Court / Dependency Letter
  1. GSP / NextUp - Students must meet all of the following:
  • Be a current or former foster youth
  • Be 26 years old or younger (at the start of the first academic year)
  • Enroll or plan to enroll in 9 units
  • Have been in foster care for at least one day on or after your 13th birthday
  • Provide a Ward of Court / Dependency Letter
