Organizations Offering Legal Support

CHIRLA was founded in 1986 to advance the human and civil rights of immigrants and refugees.​ The 'My Rights Hub' provides useful information around one's legal rights in English and Spanish. There is also a hotline. The number is listed below.

Community Legal Aid SoCal fights injustice and advocates for social, economic, and racial equity by providing compassionate, holistic, and impactful legal services. The SAC Legal Studi​es Department partners with this organization to provide various workshops around the year.

The Council of Mexican Federations in North America (COFEM) is dedicated to advancing the Latino community through public policy, community organizing, education, and cultural projects.

COFEM has great programs to provide legal assistance and referrals on issues of citizenship and residency. They also support immigrant families through educational scholarships and emergency support. Families

The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) is a national nonprofit resource center that provides immigration legal trainings, technical assistance, and educational materials, and engages in advocacy and immigrant civic engagement to advance immigrant rights.​ 
 
There are many great resources on the site including a list of trusted legal help in various areas throughout the country.
