Steps for Continuing Students

For students that have consecutively been enrolled in SAC, you will need to complete the following steps to ensure that you enroll in a timely manner:

Log in to sac.dualenroll.com, you will land on the Courses page where you can select your classes. Under class details you also see prerequisites listed, if any are required. Make sure you meet all requisites before registering for a class.

After submitting your registration, notify your high school counselor to approve your course(s).

After counselor approval, sac.dualenroll.com will process your registration.
Log back into sac.dualenroll.com and verify under status, that your registration shows “Completed”. You can also log into Self-Service to verify registration.
If you see errors or have questions, contact your high school counselor or the SAC Dual Enrollment Office for support.

A Dual Enrollment counselor can assist you with question(s) regarding any Dual Enrollment course or general Santa Ana College questions. Counseling appointments can be made in-person at the front counter (Bldg. L-223) or by calling (714) 564-6148. You can also email at assessment_center@sac.edu to schedule an appointment. Appropriate classes for the upcoming semester
Changing major
Adding or dropping classes
Prerequisites/Courses/Sequence
English/math placement
Referrals

What you need to know

Dual enrollment lets high school students earn college credit by taking real college courses. These classes appear on your permanent college transcript, so grades matter. Earning a D or F can affect future college admissions and financial aid eligibility.

Dual Enrollment vs. AP

With AP, students usually take a year-long course and must pass an exam to earn college credit.
With dual enrollment, you earn college credit for every course you pass—no end-of-year exam required. Credits are added to your Santa Ana College (SAC) transcript and may count toward your future degree.

High School Credit

Whether a dual enrollment course counts for high school credit depends on your school. Because policies vary, talk with your high school counselor before enrolling. Keep in mind that failing a course can impact both high school and college records.

Prerequisites

Some courses have prerequisites, meaning you must meet certain requirements before enrolling. Always check course descriptions in Self-Service. If you meet a prerequisite based on High School classes you completed, you will be asked to upload your transcripts on sac.dualenroll.com so the SAC Counselor can review and place a waiver if applicable.

Student Privacy (FERPA)

Once enrolled at SAC, students are protected by FERPA, a federal privacy law. Parents and guardians cannot access college records unless the student provides written permission. Check the Admissions Website for the correct form for FERPA Release.
