Program Requirements

In order to receive​ a Don Bookstore stipend, a U2 Scholar must:

​Complete the U2 Scholars Program A​p​plication​​

  • ​Please note: Applications are now being accepted for the entire academic year. If you apply towards the end of the term, you will need to complete all of the program requirements before grades are posted in order to receive your bookstore voucher. ​​​​​

​​Attend a U2 Scholars Program Orientation during that semester. ​​

  • ​Completing the application and attending an orientation is needed to become officially enrolled into the program.

  • ​Returning students in the program must also attend an orientation each semester to maintain "active" status.

  • U2 Scholars Program Orientation (Zoom Call) - For those unable to attend the live orientation, you can watch/listen to the recording and complete the brief questionnaire below to show proof of attendance.

  • Follow the educational plan created by the U2 Scholars Counselor.

  • ​Enroll in and complete a minimum of 6 units per semester.

    • Any dropping of classes must be approved by the U2 Scholar Counselor.

  • ​Have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA and complete coursework each semester with a minimum 2.50 GPA.

    • ​Failure to meet these standards may result in the need to develop a personalized contract between the U2 Counselor and the student.

  • Complete and submit grade checks as requested to the U2 Scholars Program.

  • Participate in a minimum of ONE (1) activity organized and/or approved by the U2 Scholars Program such as virtual Black History Month events, campus tours, cultural field trips, presentations, and workshop​.

  • Utilize a minimum of ONE (1) support service promoted by the U2 Scholars Program such as tutoring, study groups, and various Transfer Center & Career Center workshops.

  • Submit a completed U2 Scholars Pro​gram Checklist​ to the program coordinators by the due date specified.

  • Once a month to three times within the semester visit the U2 Village Center.

  • ​Respond in a timely manner to all communication (mail, email, phone, etc.) sent by the U2 Scholars Program staff.

  • Notify the U2 Scholars Program coordinator(s) of any changes in the class schedule, academic major, address, student ID #, phone number, or personal status.

  • ​Complete the FAFSA, Board of Governors Grant (BOGG), or Dream ACT Cal Grant each year that a student is in the program.​
