Santa Ana College's Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) is a state-funded program that works with students whose educational and socioeconomic backgrounds might limit their access to higher education or hinder their ability to be academically successful in their college-level studies.  Students who meet EOPS eligibility criteria are provided services that are “over and above” those services provided by Santa Ana College to all students.​​​​​

Spring 2026 EOPS/CARE​

​To be considered for EOPS, students ​must meet all of the following program criteria:

  • Be enrolled full-time for Spring 2026 (waitlisted do not count)

  • ​Less than full-time enrollment may be considered for eligible DSPS students.

  • Qualify for California College Promise Grant A, B or C (SAI cannot exceed 0)

  • Financial Aid packaged through Santa Ana College​

  • Be a California Resident (including DACA and AB540)

  • Have completed fewer than 48 college units, combined, from all colleges, including universities attended​ outside RSCCD. Acceptance may be conditional until external transcripts are received​

  • Meet one of the following EOPS educational factors:

  • Eligible to register in Math or English courses requiring support

  • Have not graduated from High School or have not obtained a GED (documentation required)

  • Graduated from high school with a GPA below 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (documentation required)

  • Be a first-ge​neration college student (neither parent has received an Associate degree or higher)

  • Speaking a primary language other than English

  • Current or former foster youth (documentation required)​​​​

EOPS Program "over and above" services
are designed to help EOPS students:​​

  • ​Identify an educational goal (Certificate, Associate’s Degree, and/or preparation for transfer) that fits with their academic/career interests; 

  • ​​Develop and follow an educational plan that helps them reach their educational goal in a time-efficient manner;

  • Achieve success in their college-level studies and maximize their learning experiences here at SAC.​​​​​

 

​As an EOPS student, you will receive:

  • Priority registration

  • Academic, career and personal counseling

  • Book/Calculator​ loans and school supplies

  • Assistance with financial aid, scholarship and transfer applications 

  • Tutoring appointments: EOPS Resource Center 

  • Help with the cost of textbooks

  • Program benefit cards 

  • Referrals to campus and community resources​​
