The APSP Program

The Asian Pacific Student Program (APSP) is a co-curricular program rooted in the values of
community, advocacy, and connection.

We center Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) perspectives and experiences,
offering culturally responsive support through academic counseling, peer mentorship, and
workshops that support personal, cultural, and professional growth.

What We Offer

  • Counseling: Receive academic and personal counseling from our APSP Counselor, with bilingual services available in English and Vietnamese.

  • Peer Support: APSP Peer Mentoring supports students’ success through resourceconnections, skill-building, and peer guidance grounded in shared experiences.
    • Individual Peer Mentor Support
    • Group Activities for Connection & Study
  • College Resources: Eligible credit students receive a book voucher each semester tohelp with textbooks and supplies, based on progress toward program requirements.
  • Cultural Learning Spaces: Join workshops and events that center APIDA experiences,help you build skills, and support your growth personally and professionally.
    • Wellness Workshops
    • Communi-Tea Talks & Cultural Events
    • Career & Transfer 101 Workshops
    • Financial Aid & Scholarship Clinics
  • Math & English Instructional Aid: In partnership with the U2 Scholars Program, we offer Instructional Assistants who provide academic support in Math and English, including help with coursework, skill-building, and study strategies.

 

Eligibility to Apply

  • Be enrolled at Santa Ana College:
    • Credit students: Enroll in a minimum of five (5) each semester and maintain a 2.0
      GPA
    • Non-credit students: Enroll in at least one (1) non-credit course each semester
  • Identify as APIDA or demonstrate a genuine interest in being an ally and learning from
    APIDA cultures and perspectives.

Semester Requirements

To remain in good standing with the APSP Program, students are expected to:

  • Attend one (1) academic counseling session for an updated education plan with a
    counselor of your choice
  • Engage in three (3) APSP activities, such as cultural events, workshops, or peer
    mentoring sessions
  • Complete a needs survey, mid-semester progress check, and end-of-semester survey
  • Maintain unit enrollment and GPA eligibility requirements

How to Apply to the APSP Program

The Asian Pacific Student Program (APSP) accepts new program participants once each academic year. Applications for the following academic year are open from May through September. During this time, students may apply using the link below and select APSP Program Application.

If applications are not currently open, you are still encouraged to complete the General Interest Form. Students who submit an interest form will be contacted when the application period opens.
