Dance: A.A.
Earn an Associate Degree in Dance
The Associate in Arts Degree program in dance provides training in three areas of
technique: ballet, modern, and jazz. Integral parts of the curriculum are practical
experience in concert performance and production work, as well as a theoretical background
in choreography, somatic practices, and dance history. Completion of the Associate
in Arts Degree prepares the student to enter a four-year institution leading to a
baccalaureate degree. Please consult a SAC counselor for information about course
requirements for specific four-year institutions. The dance program provides training
for careers and employment in the performing arts, education, choreography, movement
therapy, arts consultancy, dance criticism, and related fields.
