About the Program

Since 1972, Santa Ana College (SAC) has offered a training program for pharmacy technicians planning to work in outpatient, inpatient, and home health care pharmacies.

In 1984, SAC became the first community college in the United States to be accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).

SAC currently has full accreditation by ASHP and is the only program ever to receive accreditation with commendation!

Currently, the Pharmacy Technology program ensures that students have the option for three educational pathways to achieve their academic/professional goals and meets the needs of employers in a variety of healthcare settings:
