is more than maps, it is about understanding the relationships between people, places,
and the environment. Our courses combine classroom learning with practical skills
preparing you for transfer and a wide range of careers. Whether your passion is environmental
sustainability, urban planning, or cultural studies, we are here to help you succeed
and see the world through a geographer’s lens.
What is Geography?
The Geography and the Environment Department at Santa Ana College explores the dynamic
connections between people, places, and the planet. Our program blends physical geography,
human geography, and environmental studies, giving students the tools to analyze complex
issues from climate change to human settlement patters. With supportive faculty and
hands-on learning opportunities, students gain valuable skills for transfer and careers
in environmental science, regional development, education, and more.
