red pen proofreading text

Welcome! The SAC English Department offers classes in composition, critical thinking, and literature, providing opportunities for all students to strengthen their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. Students may take singular classes (such as English 101) or go on to earn an Associate's Degree in English.

Which Freshman Composition course should you take?

The Santa Ana College English Department offers a choice between English 101 or English 101 with a Support Lab. If you have questions about this, we encourage you to meet with a counselor or English instructor and check out the SAC English Guided Self-Placement so that you can make an informed decision.
